Dr. Abdulrahman Baboraik is a senior energy transition expert, strategic advisor, and thought leader with over 12 years of professional experience spanning energy transition strategy, techno-economic analysis, research and development, and long-term roadmap development for strategic industries. He has led or supported over 41 strategic, industrial, and research initiatives across the GCC, MENA, and international markets, and has contributed to the assessment, planning, and development of more than 5.8 GW of renewable and low-carbon energy projects.

As Executive Director of the Majan Council for Foresight, Strategic Affairs & Energy, Dr. Baboraik leads future-oriented studies, strategic roadmaps, and evidence-based advisory services focused on clean energy transitions, emerging technologies, and their socio-economic impacts. His role centers on translating complex technical and economic analyses into actionable insights for policymakers, investors, and industry leaders.

His professional collaborations extend across leading regional and international institutions, including UNOPS, the World Bank, the Wuppertal Institute, NEOM, SABIC, SLB, QSTec, the Gulf Renewable Lab, NADEC, Almarai, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, Tat-Energy, and various GCC Ministries of Energy.

Under his leadership, the Council acts as a strategic bridge between public institutions, research ecosystems, and industry stakeholders, supporting the development of resilient, diversified, and net-zero-aligned economies.

Dr. Baboraik’s expertise spans the full spectrum of clean energy and enabling technologies, including solar PV, wind energy, CSP, bioenergy, geothermal, hydrogen, energy storage systems, and emerging clean-tech manufacturing. His work is characterized by an integrated approach that connects engineering realities with economic viability, regulatory frameworks, and measurable socio-economic impact.

He holds a PhD in Technical Sciences, with an academic background in energy transition, sustainable technologies, and energy systems. Dr. Baboraik is the author or co-author of scientific publications, five registered patents, and multiple strategic policy and technical reports, and is a frequent contributor to regional and international conferences, expert panels, and high-level workshops.

In parallel, he is the Founder of the Arab Renewable Energy Academy (ARABRENA), through which he has overseen the delivery of more than 25 specialized training programs, supporting the upskilling of 4,000+ professionals across renewable energy, hydrogen, energy storage, and sustainability sectors.
